Turn back time with Ekko
I'm Russian Diamond 4(peak 3) player Nomizerg, my main role is jungle, but i can play any other. https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/summoner/ru/Nomizerg#championsData-ranked there you can check my account. And even though i usually dont perform on assassins too good yet Ekko is quite safe to pull it off. I played Ekko for many seasons and consider myself decent theorycrafter enough to write a guide on him.
Ekko is great AP assassin with good oneshot potential, great mobility and nice survivability, not to mention his long lasting crowd control(CC in future). However in order to his power really come online he needs to survive until around two items powerspike unless you snowball really hard.When you reach this point there is opens up solo carry potential. Sometimes you can lose early game and have a hard time but with time you will become strong enough to be usefull again yet there are times where games ends before this.

Dark Harvest
Dark Harvest is most general rune page for Ekko since its best working with his midgame powerspike and has a reset on takedowns. Electrocute gives more early game presence and more unconditional burst but its usefulness in fight ends after the moment its used.
Sudden Impact is pretty much best choice in this row since its gives more damage than Cheap Shot and you dont need additional sustain in jungle.
Eyeball Collection is generally better as its scales with your presence in kills. But you can run Zombie Ward to lose a little of adaptive force in order to get more vision since its kind of rare to get 10 wards takedowns and this rune more valuable in high elo.
Ravenous Hunter is best Hunter viable because its gives you decent amount of healing that is very precious midfight. Especially good heal will come from single target source of damage like Ekko passive and E.
Secondary
Inspiration is best overall second rune path since it has Magical Footwear that allows as to get 300g from that rune and some additional move speed. Next rune is usually goes Cosmic Insight so far as it decent generally and gives your summoners and spells some cooldown reduction. On comparison we can take a Future's Market to get our powerspikes a little earlier yet wasting some gold for it. Good tempo rune but with a small downside and need to get used in order to not take 10g debt randomly.
Precision is also an option for secondaries when you really need Legend: Tenacity to counter enemy CC. Because sometimes you getting locked down without ability to ult or stasis and very sad.
Next we go with Triumph best rune that left in this path giving us some sustain and gold which is nice. On the contrast Coup de Grace looks decent for Ekko on paper yet not perform too well. Rarely people take Last Stand to amplify damage on low health especially from ult but its requires more testing to say if its really good.
The raising of First Strike page
First Strike is getting more popular in Korea and arguably better page allowing as getting to accumulate gold faster and getting our items quicker and providing some burst. I recommend trying both to fell which one you like more. But personally i think that Dark Harvest produce greater solo carrying potential meanwhile First Strike allows get your items faster so if fell like game can end fast its preferable.
I will not describe runes much here since i mentioned most of them already, i will only say that you can take Precision instead of Domination in cases of heave CC yet having less sustain could be quite crucial.
Lethal Tempo Ekko? Is this guy trolling?
Its an experemental page that i thought of myself its only works if enemy team has 2+ tanky characters but you will deal more damage to them adapting a little more of a bruiser playstyle and Ekko kit quite good at it. I will make a special build for this page lower.
I am choosing Lethal Tempo over Conqueror because its provides more DPS and works great with Ekko W passive.
The only rune that i did not mention is Legend: Alacrity which will work good if enemies dont have much of CC.
Secondaries is unswapable in my opinion.

Always same unless some action happening level 1, if enemies ambushed you consider taking E to escape from them even though it will hurt your clear speed.
There is also a little trick if you not level your ult right away your afterimage will not appear so it can confuse your enemies that thought that your R on cooldown.

Item Builds
General
Hailblade is usually better since it gives a little burst plus slow that allows you to get in range of second part of your E. On opposite we have Emberknife that provides as with more dueling power so far as its gives damage reduction debuff and greater damage over tine.
Refillable Potion much preferable than Health Potion because you dont need more sustain early that this and recharges at base. Later you even can refund some money when you not longer need it.
Oracle Lens is superior to Warding Totem on junglers in most cases since its disables enemy wards lending a good gank window yet taking Ward first can be usefull if you get vision on the river before your creeps will spawn, recalling to base for Lens and go for buff on opposite side of your ward.
Dark Seal is best thing you can get early in order to start snowballing so make sure to get early but if you have enough for Hextech Alternator its better to buy it since its already have additional burst which is good for ganks.
Mejai's Soulstealer is by far best item in the game especially by its gold efficiency even at 10 stacks. I recommend buying this item when you gave around 10 stacks on your Dark Seal with Ekko safety its pretty easy to keep high stacks and if you buy Stopwatch early maintaining stacks is even less of a problem.
Hextech Rocketbelt has a nice gapcloser burst ability with many usefull stats. With this gapcloser reaching your targets will be considerably easier which makes this mythic core on Ekko. Night Harvester also provides good mobility when fighting enemies yet not having additional gapcloser make things a little harder to begin fighting. However this item can be proced on every enemy champion same as potentially Dark Harvest so if you planning on reaping entire opposite team this is solid choice.
Sorcerer's Shoes is best boots to amplify your damage. Grab Mercury's Treads boots if you dont have any other source of tenacity and feel the need for them.
Lich Bane is source of additional damage procing on your autos and since you will always auto when you hit someone with your E his ability will always be at work. Against healthier opponents consider building Nashor's Tooth so far as it gives more DPS overall.
After core items order have less of a meaning just build for this specific game
If you still have troubles with enemy CC try using Quicksilver Sash with it you guaranteed to use your escapes.
If you feeling like champions like Aatrox healing too much buy Oblivion Orb to reduce it by 40%.
Zhonya's Hourglass is very powerful item just by its ability to stop time exactly what Ekko need for setting up his W and ult. Some armor is nice too especially against AD assassins.
Rabadon's Deathcap one of the strongest mage just by multiplicating your entire AP into even bigger amount. This cap works extremely well with Mejai.
Void Staff is one the best way to deal with foe magic resistance even if they didn't build much you still shredding enough to give around 20% damage boost.
That was most commonly build now lets see at rarer options.
Morellonomicon performing quite poorly on Ekko but you really need shutdown healing from champions like Sylas its a good option.
If you still fell like dont have enough DPS you can buy Nashor's Tooth in addition to your Lich Bane.
If you completed all your items and still need Quicksilver Sash buy a Silvermere Dawn to gain improved ability and some additional defensive stats, only AD is wasted a little.
When you need a little of magic resist and spellshield you can buy Banshee's Veil but its okay item overall.
Cosmic Drive seems to perform well as last item but needs further testing.
Elixir of Sorcery grab this elixir when you feel like this game is about to end or to utilize baron/elder buff. Or Elixir of Iron if you want to be healthier and more tenacious.
Lethal Tempo build
Emberknife is better for longer fight so in this build we will grab it.
This build doesn't differentiate too much from original yet mythic is Riftmaker providing with some true damage and survivability.
Nashor's Tooth is always secon in this build.
In this build you can consider building one more pair of boots Plated Steelcaps if enemy heave an autoatack champions this item will reduced their damage little bit.

Counters
There is no special champion or item that counters Ekko its just CC and burst so make sure to built around it or pressing your R before hand.
Jungle Route
This is my favourite route on most champions because it allows you to get level 3 with only 3 camps and immediately scout for gank opportunities and if you dont have any you can just continue to clear jungle in opposite direction.
Ekko combos
There is not mush to talk about but i will give a brief overview.
Start with W aiming for a place where enemies will be located jump forward with E if you still can't reach your target and have Hextech Rocketbelt then gapclose with it. If you still lacking some distance use Chilling Smite if available. When you about to jump on opponent with E there is two options either blink first and then Q or Q before activating second part of E to save some animation time. After you hit foe with 2 spells give him auto to proc passive. After this decide what to do depending on situation.
Midfight try to hit your enemies with returning Qs by moving accordingly, using E, Hextech Rocketbelt or even Flash to deal more damage and stack your passive and potentially finish them off.
Your W procs even if your in stasis so you can initiate a fight by yourself stunning enemies and going into Zhonya's Hourglass.
Try using ult mostly for escape from bad situations but if you spot someone standing on your afterimage you can give it a try to blow him up.
