TOPGAP69's Hardcarry Mundo



Hi, im TOPGAP69, a Plat/Diamond EUW player. You will only find me on toplane and since season 12 started, almost exclusively playing Mundo.

Mundo is super strong right now, since he does not care about the recent item changes, which made Bruisers a lot worse against tanks. Also he scales very well with gold, which counters all these insanely annoying Janna Toplane (with Smite....) players.

In my experience, Mundo can win every lane by cs and plates. There's a few examples which Mundo has a rough time against, such as Camille, Gwen, Garen and Vayne.

Also, watch out in the early game, if you are playing against Ignite toplaners.

I will explain why these are the best runes for Mundo. Grasp is the best keystone for Mundo, because Mundo likes short trades in early game. You can get a lot of Grasp stacks easily. Demolish makes it easier to punish non-Teleport playing enemies, because you can get a lot of plates in laning phase. You take Conditioning and Unflinshing, since you want to scale like crazy and Unflinshing makes playing against a lot of slow easier. Conditioning makes you super tanky after the 12th minute.

You take Magical footwear, because the extra movement speed is great for you and it also scales well, because you get "300 gold for free". Approach Velocity is super broken with your cleavers, since you get insanely fast when using ultimate, hitting a cleaver and running towards that movement impared enemy.

Obviously you can decide if you whether take armor or magic resistance. But you always take hp in runes, since Mundo scales well with bonus hp.

You always start with and put a second point into that spell as fast as possible. Your W is useless on early levels. Also the Minimum Damage of your Q increases by a lot when putting a second point into it.

When i'm playing against tanks, i usually max my Q first, because it deals Max HP damage. In every other case E max is better.



Always try to have 1100 gold on your first backport. If not buy rubycrystals and pieces of the sunfire. If you are playing against something like voli, Aatrox, Warwick or similar champs you can also buy a bramble west. (but DONT buy Thornmail, since you would need hard cc to get 60% antiheal. ONLY buy it as last item)

ALWAYS buy sunfire and titanic. Those items make mundo so strong right now. If you fall behind, you can skip titanic. Spirit visage is super strong on Mundo too, since it increases his healing.

Your other items depend on the enemy team. If AD heavy you can just stack armor. If AP heavy you can buy Force of nature.

Anathemas Chains makes every game easier. You can buy it to get less damage from their fed up carry or just use it, if they only have one AD or AP champ, so you dont have to buy that type of resistance. (so smart)
