The Only Way to Play Mordekaiser (Full Pre-Season Update Soon)(Some Items Changed)
Best Overall Runes
Best Overall Build
-I assume you're here to find out how mord is actually suppose to be played not these trash u.gg "pro" build that don't know what their talking about. There's a reason mords win rate is not higher and it's not cause the champ sucks.
-I'm TrevOG a five time Gold veteran player who recently hit Plat and you can too, just follow this guide.
-You might be wondering why mord? What does this champ have that others don't. Well do you want to dominate completely and stomp almost any champ. Well mord might be for you. I firmly believe with a few exceptions that mord is one of the best top laners right now and in this guide i will go over it all.
The rune pages are not very complicated just take conqueror for all matchups with conditioning and overgrowth because they are broken but you can swap conditioning for second wind vs hard ranged matchups. This is really the only rune page I run nothing else really beats it in my opinion.
- Standard Gigachad Rune Page
Yeah we run ignite round here ignite is OP depending on matchup you will have to chose between flash and ghost i find in most cases ghost has been more efficient lately and it just feels better to use, but if you are a more traditional top laner even with how trash tp feels these days you can still run it. I personally run ignite tho. And lets be honest are you really going to use TP properly just go ignite. I would only go tp into matchups where you actually have no chance of winning.(see matchups below)
- Summs (Role 1)
This usually never changes just max Q into E and so on.
- Skill Path
We have a normal start with Dorans Shield the item just gives a bit more sustain in lane and lets be honest is just broken. Dorans Ring and Dark Seal are also viable options into easy matchups or tanks because Dshield isn't really needed in these cases but if you feel more comfortable with Dsheild by all means go for it. We want to look to purchase Aegis on first back if possible or boots with components. Boots are just gonna be Steelcaps, Treads or Lucidity depending on the enemy team, I will say though Lucidity boots are just broken right now and if you don't need tank boots or you are snowballing it is usually best to go those. There is no better mythic than Jak'sho on mord with Rylai's and Demonic Embrace(can be built 4th or 5th) both being essential for his kit. Don't ever buy nashors tooth or riftmaker the items are so trash makes no sense why some people build it's just tanking the win rate. But after core it really depends on how fed you are vs how fed the enemy team is you want to probably look to build tankier unless you're really fed then you can probably just go deathcap might seem unorthodox but this is only if you are really far ahead but if not we want to look at buying either zhonyas, Abyssal Mask or Force of Nature depening on what you need more of. Zhonyas is usually going to be 3rd or 4th item really just depends on how ahead you are vs the enemy team you will have to think if you need the extra time in ult if you cant kill a hyper carry or just use it to buy time on CDs. Zhonyas also pairs well with Gargoyle Stoneplate these two items timed right with your W can give you incredible sustain. Grevious is honestly useless since you run ignite unless enemy team has 3+ champions that just do insane healing but for the most part you can get away with never building it.
- Item Set 1
- Most people don't build it but watch for qss at all stages of the game useless to ult them unless you know its on cooldown.
-A good use of mords ult is to apply pressure at objectives such as dragon or baron you can ult the enemy jungler and they can't smite so it can be an easy way to secure it.
- Most champs that have summons or place things on the ground and such dont follow into mord ult so if there is a match up with those types of interactions wait for them to use it then ult if it's is a problem.
Warwick, Trynd, Sett are just some unplayable match ups cant really do much.
So now you know the GIGACHAD way to play mord if you follow this guide and don't play like complete trash you should be able to dominate the rift and climb pretty easily.
