I am a peak platinum 2 Jungler who is currently working to improve my skill and reach diamond during the first half of season 12.
My winrate is currently 70% in around 50 games played (Solo Duo) (Ivern Specifically)
I am currently ranked #35 Ivern NA (Rank 219 World)
While I understand my credentials are not that of a high elo player, I believe that I have a very deep knowledge of Ivern and hope that I may be of assistance in aiding anyone who wishes to play this champion at a high level.
Runes
Ivern is an incredibly straight forward jungler with a very linear gameplan. Due to this, there are no changes to his runes when encountering certain matchups. Summon Aery has high synergy with your general "poke and shield" routine. Movement Speed runes like waterwalking and nimbus cloak give Ivern a positioning advantage over most junglers at all stages of the game. As a hyper gank/early game oriented jungler, this edge can allow you to snowball your lanes before the enemy jungler can make an impact. Finally, Future's Market will allow Ivern to purchase Ionian Boots of Lucidity on the first recall of the game, every game.

Item Builds
Start the game by warding river and performing a trinket swap to Oracle Lens.
In every game you should be purchasing Ionian Boots of Lucidity on your first recall. Not only do these boots provide relevant stats but the movement speed directly contributes to your hyper gank/objective oriented gameplay.
Since you will be playing relatively safe and stacking up assists, Dark Seal is fantastic and incredibly gold efficient.
Moonstone Renewer is your best-in-slot, however if you have an enchanter support on your team who is planning on building Moonstone Renewer, purchasing a mythic like Shurelya's Battlesong will be more efficient.
I trust you all are aware of what the items in this game do. I wont waste your time with simple things such as "build Chemtech against comps with healing and buy hourglass if you find yourself the target of enemy assassins". Simply purchase legendary items that you believe will help the team. Best advice I can give is not to default to the same items every game.
Item Set 1
Ivern Basic Jungle Clear, Pathing, and Tips
The Fast Clear
NOT ONLY is this path the fastest to gank, but also taps everything in your blue side quadrant meaning it is simultaneously time efficient in regards to Ivern's passive.
Blue Buff and Wolves spawn at the same time, while the gromp is delayed.
Beginning on wolves and then moving to blue makes it so that you do not have to backtrack away from the river, increasing the overall speed of the clear. After you tap blue, smite it while walking towards the gromp. You will restore lost health and mana as well as acquiring level 2. If done correctly, you will arrive at the gromp at the same time it spawns, allowing for an instant tap.
At this point you are level 2 with blue buff in hand.
The midlane will just be receiving it's second wave of minions meaning both laners are level 1, soon to be level 2. Ganking now is one option. The other is to motion to your mid to go aggressive on the wave. If they hit level 2 before their lane opponent you will almost certainly acquire enemy summoners or first blood.
Ivern cannot contest neutral camps with his passive even with smite available. 1v1 duels are not where this champion shines. If the enemy jungler damages/applies crowd control to you during the channel of Friend of the Forest, you will lose the channel all together.
Give up on crabs when there are opponents present unless your laners plan to assist you.
In that same vein, only invade with smite available and only when you know the enemy jungler is not present.
***WARDS WIN GAMES***
Buying Early Control Wards = Finding the Enemy Jungler = You Take Objectives
Level 6 Ivern can solo Dragon or Rift with decent speed and 0% health loss.
As soon as you confirm the enemy junglers location you can start the objective opposite to them. Focus on objectives, especially if your ganks have been failing. You can always be doing something as Ivern since you don't waste any time clearing jungle camps.
Ivern Tips!
When ganking, remember your E shield applies a powerful slow. Walking into your opponent with your shield equipped first will make rootcaller easier to land!
Pathing through jungle entrances like tribush or near raptors can allow you to get between the enemies and their tower. This creates a screen in which your opponents will be forced to pass though. Additionally, you will have an easier time using rootcaller since they will likely be behind the minion wave!
Ivern's W: brushmaker, has a passive that increases your auto attack damage. Placing down bushes while taking objectives like dragon, rift herold, and baron nashor will increase your clear speed!
When Ivern creates a bush with brushmaker it grants vision briefly. Placing a brush into a preexisting bush will reveal enemies hiding there!
Clicking the champion portraits above your minimap will auto target that champion in game. Using this trick during a hectic teamfight will ensure you shield priority champions regardless of where they are!
Use Daisy. I know this is simple, but hear me out. She can be used to tank tower for a push without wave, she can be used to block skill shots when enemies are trying to poke your team, she can be used to apply the slow from your shield, she can be used to gain information since she grants vision of her surroundings, etc. She is versatile, you should be versatile!
What does it mean to be a low economy Jungler?
Although a jungle champion, Ivern is first and foremost an enchanter support. After acquiring boots, mythic, and 1 legendary item, you have reached a peak in effectiveness.
After a certain point, it is MORE effective to give your allies your jungle camps than you taking them for yourself. The gold and experience that they grant are simply MORE useful on their champions than on you.
Regardless of how well you are doing in the match, this is the case.
Please understand that you play Ivern to help your team.
This is one of many ways we can do that.
It's probably worth adding the standard clear (Wolves -> blue -> gromp -> smite red -> raptors -> blast cone trick to collect wolves, blue, then gromp)
Ivern's passive make it hard to figure out what the best clear is for him without a guide, and I'd imagine that's what most people are going to look for when they start playing Ivern
