Why play Sett Mid?
WIth this build you won't be able to 1v9 and you will have to play a more supportive role, but don't let that fool you because this build has everything from Sustain, Damage and Impressive Team Fight potential to ensure that YOU and YOUR TEAM have a guarantee Win!
How to play Sett Mid?
You want to as agressive as possible in lane while keeping track of the enemy jungler and NOT overcommitting, always know your limits. After bulling your opponent you can shove the wave and recall or you can try to destroy their towers for better lane pressure. Make sure to position well to avoid getting ambushed by the whole enemy team, but If somehow you do manage to get ambushed there's not much to do (except using Ghost or Flash) because Sett is very slow and can eazily get kited. "Positioning is Key"
Ganking with Sett?
Try to look for ganks using your ULT to grab opponents that are under Towers to your team and also help your jungler to get objectives while showing your dominance if the enemy team approaches you. If you did all the steps right, now you are able to easily 1v1 everyone but do not take risks, especially 50%50 trades. "ALWAYS FIGHT WITH YOUR TEAM"

Mercury's are optimal for every MID Lane matchup while also being useful if the enemy team has a lot of CC.
One of the best Mythic items on Sett for providing damage and movement speed.
A very necessery item on Sett for waveclear while also providing more damage when buying health items.
Great item for increased movement speed. A good alterative to this item would be Force of Nature if the enemy team has a lot of AP.
Best Magic Resist item for Sett, synergizing very well with Revitalize and Shield bash for a massive increase on your W shield.
Best Sustain item for Sett, it's best used against champions with high burst damage (AD/AP), while also increasing your base AD from Trinity Force + Massive Grit gain.
Most reliable item for any MID lane matchup, lacks AA damage but the health from the item and your W compensates for it.
Although Cull is a good item for getting a gold lead on your opponent, you should never buy this as a your first item. Only buy this after your first item if you want to invest your time in farming.
Conqueror is a very good Rune for Sett. It offers bonus Adaptive Force and Health which synergies perfectly with Sett's W.
Grasp is a very ocasional Rune but it's actually a good one if you can't have any extended trades. Manage your positioning and your wave for safer Grasp procs.
Fleet Footwork is needed against Ranged champions in the MID Lane, allowing you to have a good MS and Sustain from the Healing that it offers.
Best Spell for mobility and chase on Sett.
This Spell is has more potential on Sett for quick kills (F + E + W / F + W combo).
A very good Spell if you want to catch waves or get to your team fast.
Iginte allows you to snowball insanely hard, most optimal for any 1v1 matchup.
