"Death is the best powerspike" -Ghandi, probably
Intro
Hi there! I am Jellytortise88 and I would like to say that I am a well-worn and confident Ivern top troll. But it's not trolling if it works right? Anyway, I have played Ivern top many times during my league of legends career and this is what I have found to work the best for just about any matchup. Ivern is a very abusable champion with an insane amount of CC that he has early game, as well as late. This helps him win lane very easily as well as using your
Triggerseed for unpunishable trades. Ivern tends to fall off after 30+ minutes but you can still have a lot of CC and crazy damage with some AOE burst on your
Triggerseed . Level 6 is a very big powerspike because that turns the top lane into a 2v1. I've sent
Daisy! off with a shield to tower dive a half health Sett and STILL come out of that exchange with full health and a kill. Using
Daisy! to run down the enemy laner is probably the most terrifying thing they will ever encounter when playing League of Legends. Runes (Loadout)
is the most optimal rune for Ivern top because it can proc when you auto the enemy from a bush. This is very useful and painful for poke during laning phase. helps for lane sustain and allows you to stay in the game a bit longer especially because Ivern falls off late game. is Ivern's best friend because CDR is the best thing you can give him for his ability spam. I've always preferred taking and on Ivern because you get extra damage when they are CC'd (which is most of the time) and also you can have
Daisy! out permanently off cooldown. The rest is pretty self explanatory, more CDR, damage, and armor or magic resist based on the matchup.Summoner Spells
has always felt better than using or . You could go if you wanted to utilize your passive and roam the enemy jungle during laning phase but I generally prefer to stay in lane. gives very good level 1-3 kill pressure for an easy first blood and is useful during fights for the anti-heal. Skill Path
Starting with
Brushmaker works best for level 1 because it empowers your autos to do extra magic damage on-hit (in a bush) which gets you that first minion wave pretty confidently. Also getting poke with your high-damage autos and activating with your autos does a TON of damage. Going
Triggerseed next allows you to step up and go in for unpunishable trades with the decent shield and damage you get from it. Maxing
Triggerseed first is the best because having an increase in the shielding, damage, and cooldown on such a powerful ability is extremely strong especially in the top lane because most matchups are melee. It is also a great ability to play passively because the shield denies all poke against you. Maxing
Rootcaller next gives you the damage and cooldown you need because this is a nice anti-gank CC ability. It is also very useful when playing aggressive as well because when you hit this ability on an enemy, you can dash to the enemy that you rooted.
Ivern
Item Builds
Having a lot of CDR allows you to use Ivern at his full potential, rooting with
Rootcaller and slowing with
Triggerseed every other second. gives CDR as its mythic passive as well as giving a painful burn. Also, autoing the enemy from a bush can activate the burn. and also give very nice CDR and movement speed to help you bully the enemy. Staying in lane and farming until you have 950 gold for gives you a high amount of early game CDR and a large amount of kill pressure on the enemy when you get back to lane. Going gives you that extra burn which is incredibly useful on Ivern because he has that quick AOE explosion to have the entire enemy team burning to a crisp in less than a second. is one of my personal favorites because it adds that extra little on-hit damage during a team fight. This Ivern build is pretty aggressive and really helps you pull that off by putting out as much damage as possible while spamming shields and roots. Lastly, is valuable while being aggressive because you can still control and fight with
Daisy! while in stasis.Matchups and Synergies
Most matchups you will encounter will be melee so the main focus is to make sure you don't get in melee range of them until you are confident to go in with your shield and kill them. Ivern's best synergies are with melee/close engage champions. It gives him a lot of room to output damage and shields. STAY AWAY FROM RANGED MATCHUPS!!!
