New Jungle Nasus Build Guide
Welcome to the wonderful world of Jungle Nasus! Who's actually quite fun!
For starters, we're going to really want to make a full clear of our jungle, try to get a ward on both Red and Blue buff (through a teammate if possible) if you can't, get a ward on Blue and then head to Red, take it out, followed by Golems, Raptors, Wolves, Froggo, then Blue, by then you'll be level 4 if you can take them all out, letting you starting to gank with all basic abilities and a level 2 Q.
Now, jungling with Nasus is a little weird for three main reasons, and these are things that you must keep in mind at all times when playing him.
Reason 1; Smiting | When playing as Nasus, you really want to get those stacks of your Q's Passive via killing monsters (especially large monsters) with it, to achieve this, instead of using smite to finish off a monster, you should instead use it to get the monster low enough that the damage your Q can do is enough to finish it off, this works as a neat trick for stealing or saving drakes, as well as being something you have to do to keep up your jungle camp clearing times while still getting Q stacks.
Reason 2; Monster Order | Now in order to make sure we clear as fast as possible and get to ganking and saving teammates, we need to kill our monsters and do so fast, do NOT wait for your Q to make sure you can kill absolutely everything with it, even if it seems very very enticing to wait that extra 5 seconds to get that last tiny Raptor kill for 3 more stacks, its just not worth it. However, we still need these stacks to make sure our damage can really get to the point we want it to be, so in order to keep getting stacks AND keep our clears fast, we need to really pay attention to the order we kill monsters in camps in, start with the small ones and with your E, if you can use Q once to get one stack off of a small monster kill, leave the large monsters for last always, this is because one large monster kill counts for 4 TIMES the amount of stacks killing a medium or small monster is with our Q. For the large monsters, play safe and wait until you can kill them with your Q to activate it, we don't want our jungle pet killing the monster for us and losing out on 12 Q passive stacks, to achieve this, keep an eye on the amount of damage your Q is doing so you know when to activate it.
Reason 3; Farm, Farm, Farm | Try to remember that we are not Kayn here, we are Nasus. We gain the same amount of Q passive stacks from a champion kill as we do from a large jungle monster, that is to say, ABSOLUTELY still gank, that is our role as a jungler, and ABSOLUTELY save your team from chasing enemies with Wither when you know you can. However, as Jungle Nasus, we need to farm, and killing Champions is as important as killing our jungle, and at some point the enemy jungle. There is a certain point when it does however become time to start leaving the jungle alone, in favor of prowling more on the lanes to either push back the enemies advance, or to further enforce your teammates push. If your teammates need help, HELP THEM, but if they seem okay, get all those large monsters you possibly can, it is very important so that we can make a difference later.
Aside from that, Nasus runes are generally pretty "Pick-Your-Poison," however I opt for Dark Harvest for more burst damage, paired with Ghost Poros for more vision, and Relentless Hunter, in my secondary slot I go for Inspiration and use Future's Market for quicker items (since our first two items after our jungle item are VERY important.) Followed by Approach Velocity for more Movement Speed. As Nasus we have Wither to slow down enemies, however we ourselves are still very slow, to make ends meet here we utilize Blue Smite, Approach Velocity, Boots-Before-Mythic and Relentless Hunter.
