I say this a lot, but I'm not good at League. I've only been playing for a little over a year, I don't play ranked, and I suck at just about everything but jungling. That may discourage some of you from reading on, but I really hope that you do, because you might find some good advice.

Sovereign's Domination: An Explanation of Viego's Abilities



Sovereign's Domination
is part of what Viego such a formidable opponent. By killing or assisting in a kill, he turns those enemies into mist wraiths, which he can possess upon attacking them. Using the mist wraiths will heal for a percent of the wraith's health and it will grant you a free cast of your ult.

Runes (Loadout)



Lethal Tempo
was and still is a pretty good keystone for Viego, but due to its nerf,
Conqueror
is more consistent.
Conqueror
is great, but due to Viego's nerf in patch 12.12, it doesn't feel the way it used to.

He's a jungler, so obviously his summoner spells would be

Jungle Paths

Viego Jungle Clear with Blue Buff Start

If you want to, you can also clear Krugs before Scuttler for a full clear instead of a six camp clear.

Viego Jungle Clear with Red Buff Start

Skill Path

Viego's skill path is Q>E>W. You start by leveling Q at game start, then W after Blue Sentinel, and then E after the Wolves. If you decide to do the Red Buff start instead of the Blue Buff, You start with Q, then level your E instead of your W after you kill the Brambleback. Then, you clear the Wolves which grants you your W.

Item Builds

Because of Viego's nerf, I've been missing some of his AD from

Heartbreaker
, so now I build
Kraken Slayer
instead of
Divine Sunderer
, but you should still build it. The Kraken Slayer Set values AD over health, and the Divine Sunderer Set values both pretty equally. I'll put both sets so you can choose the one you like best.

Tips and Tricks

Viego is mostly AA based, so you won't find yourself casting his spells that much.



Spectral Maw
stuns enemies upon impact, and I would recommend that when ganking, casting
Harrowed Path
in front of you while channeling
Spectral Maw
to give enemies less time to react.

When jungling and ganking, cast your E frequently for extra attack speed and move speed. But before careful with it because it connects with the terrain.

Using

Blade of the Ruined King
or
Spectral Maw
while in your E will make you visible to enemy champs.

It is best to use the mist wraiths when you need to heal or when there is another enemy nearby.

Posessing the body of another champ grants you free usage of your R.

Clearing waves while in the body of an enemy champ gives you health.

Viego can flash while using

Spectral Maw
, and the quick combo catches enemies off guard.



Spectral Maw
can be used defensively, and allows Viego to dodge enemy skillshots.



One Last Thing...

Viego is a great champ to play, and he's been dominating pro leagues for quite sometime. I got most of my information (and the pictures) from jungler.gg, and Oner's Viego gameplay. I'll link both here so you can see for yourself.
