Cleansing the Rift one game at a time



Introduction



Hello there once again! I came back with another,more detailed,

Mordekaiser
guide. This time around, with a more special,fun and interactive way to play in our beloved Summoner's Rift.

Keep in mind, the build you're going to see it's not a competitive, or ranked climb- specific build. The build is made with the purpose to have fun,and fun is what you'll get. But the build appears to actually be very efficient, both behind and ahead. The only requirements are:

-a good knowledge of

Mordekaiser
and his cooldowns

-good sense of itemization and buildcrafting

-playing around the enemy team compositions.



The following build/runes/skill tree will be updated as time goes on,with more matchups, tips and knowledge. As of the time writing thise,i've played this build for a good 200+ games,with a mostly positive winrate about 54%.

With that out of the way,let's get into the build!



First of all,this guide will work for both Mid and Top Lanes. It works for Jungle too,but those lanes seems to have the most success with this build.

    

    Runes (Type of Matchups)

    Here I'll recommend what kind of runes you should be focusing onto depending on what kind of enemy you'll be facing. They won't be enemy specific,but you can adapt them based on your preferences too!

    Summoner Spells

    Again, feel free to switch dependant on what you feel better with. I wouldn't suggest running

    Flash
    cause of the hefty cooldown. Ghost helps way more chasing and escaping.

    last. This will be cause for what we'll be building,which i'll list below in a second.

    Item Build and Itemization

    In this build,we're building only one AP item,which is

    Riftmaker
    . This is cause
    Mordekaiser
    's true damage complemnts his %max health damage of
    Darkness Rise
    ,letting him shred any champion with ease.

    The rest of the build will go towards scaling % of heal and shields. This is cause any percentage buff is cumulative for this category,meaning the more we buy, the more exponentially it stacks. For context,if we were to buy

    Spirit Visage
    ,it would increase of 25%,but with
    Revitalize
    alone,it stacks up,adding to a total of 31.25% (25% +5%+5% of 25%). With 4 items it stacks to more than 120%.

    With

    Indestructible
    providing a 30% health shield, it's easy to notice how in the end you'll end up getting more than your own max health in terms of shields, when below 40% health.

    • New Group

    As you can see,there's something all these items share,aside two. They're all incredibly cheap. They also counter all sides of the roster,from AP to AD.

    However,as all these items come cheap,they also have two crucials counters: Grievious wounds and

    Serpent's Fang
    . These will greatly reduce your lifespan during a fight,but serpent is the worse threat. Grievious wounds is a partial counter,given reducing by 40% the heal of half a 2.4K shield is about a 720 heal,it's still a lot.

    That's why we're building

    Anathema's Chains
    and
    Randuin's Omen
    ,to counter AD carries,assassins and heavy AD bruisers such as La Creatura (
    Fiora
    ) or
    Aatrox
    .

    

    Redemption
    and
    Mikael's Blessing
    will provide extra magic resists, heal and utility,as all heals and shields are way bigger. Plus Mikael can be used on you for some extra utility, while redemption will make your
    Realm of Death
    fights super easy unless cleansed.

    I also included

    Moonstone Renewer
    and
    Staff of Flowing Water
    if you wanna go with a full support playstyle. A argument could be made for
    Radiant Virtue
    ,but i'm still trying it out,so i won't confirm his usefulness.

    Pros

    -High damage

    -High survivability

    -Can 1v5 unless

    Serpent's Fang
    comes in play

    -Very low cooldowns

    

    Cons

    -Slow and easy to kite withou using

    Ghost

    -Loses value against AD Heavy teams

    -Needs a proper engage to stack his W shield first
