Hello! My name is Hamilton and I'm a
Master YiIn this guide i'm going to show what i've been building on yi, and what i do to stomp games, I hope you guys enjoy it :D
Runes
By far the best runepage is
, Yi is a scaling champion that need items to powerspike, with this rune you can snowball early and get fed as quickly as possible. Because you go you dont need anymore, so i always pick .The other viable option is
, which was pretty hyped when announced for yi, but ended up disappointing a little bit, when you pick this rune your early game becomes SO WEAK that you can barely do anything. I would recommend this runes only playing against bruisers/tanks with no annoying mobility/CC, such as 
Ornn
Irelia
Rammus- Hail of Blades
- Lethal Tempo
Summoner Spells
Since you are jungling, always take
and one of the below.I don't use anything besides
and , it gives you utility in many ways every part of the game, almost every game i can get a free kill with flash + Q, so that already compensates a lot.
got pretty popular some time ago, its easier to cheese and get early advantage but it has way less uses compared to flash, you lack mobility and its pretty useless after mid/late game.
is only decent against comps with at least 2 assasins like

On Duskblade build its better to max Q, on on-hit you put 3 points on Q early for the faster clear, then after 6 you max E.

Both builds can be done using
but if you are using just use the On-Hit build.Obviously those aren't the only good items in both builds, those are just the ones i build more frequently, you can still build
and on the Duskblade build if you need it, or get in either builds if you need it as well, the sky is the limit!Matchups and Synergies
There are a LOT of different matchups for yi, so for simplifing things, i made a tier list with all categories of matchups and another one for synergies.

Renata came with a huge kit for helping Yi, her W at max gives the same atk speed as lulu and she can give you +3 extra seconds for you get a kill after dead and get you REVIVED, she has a shield and a very good (but kinda slow) AOE CC. She's one of the best and not the best suport with yi.
Just like G.A., Zilean's ult
ChronoshiftAaahhh, a classic one, Lulu can counter you hard in the other team but in yours its just a dream, When you Q she just can spam R on you and you knock everyone up when your alpha ends, can shield you hard and polimorf any annoying enemy, or just buff you even more if you want to.
Tbh the cat is good with almost any scaling champion, she gaves you a ton of shield, heal, movement speed, atack speed and a simple, but effective AOE CC, and the best part: she follows you safely everywhere, so you can just walk around getting kills with her with no effort.
Before 11.6 taric had the BEST synergie with yi, but since the nerfs you need to time your Q to play with taric, if he PRESSES Q, E, R or his R completly falls while you are in Q, IT DOESNT GIVE YOU THE EFFECT, so you need to Q between his R falling, which might be hard depending of the fight, it is still a good duo, but not the best.
Getting a shield from the other side of the map is really something unique, and after that a protection from auto attacks and an easy CC is pretty helpful, sadly he doesn't have more to offer.
The moment morgana hits her Q in a target Master yi can freely engage on them not expecting annoying insta CC, due to her
Black ShieldKarma is just like morgana but instead of a black shield and tons os CC you get mov speed and shield, she can help more your team overall than only yourself, its better than most of supports but not nearly good as the higher tier ones.
Rakan is the kind of support that can do everything but not that effective. I would say he is best at engaging and CC'ing the enemies which is really good for yi, he can also give you some minor protection, but nothing to crazy. Overall, almost every engage champion is kinda on the same level as rakan to yi.

Always start in your red buff, it makes the rest of your clear way faster and the effect procs on your
Alpha StrikePlaystyle
In most of the cases you'll have
and this run is MASSIVE for getting early advantage, if you are going build (which is the one i've been using way more) you wanna rush before starting your , so always look to reset with at least 1.1k gold for you to buy it, and then you can start doing MASSIVE early damages on squishes, if you land all of your combo you are certenly going to 100-0 them.The best combo order (showed on the video below) is:
E + AA + AA + AA + W (for auto reset) + AA + Q + AA
It seems a lot but once you get the timing of everything, you can execute it very naturaly
Obviously, you don't need
early to still do big amounts of damage, any free kill or fight you can get that you can win its already a huge deal for you.DONT PLAY HIGH RISK & HIGH REWARD, its very important that you don't fall very much behind in the early, even tho Yi scales a lot, collecting any advantage can accelerate your game a lot, and once you get your powerspike items, you are going to destroy everyone
MID/LATE GAME
Even after getting your items and being fed, you gotta remember: YOU ARE NOT THE FRONT LINE. Always analyse both teams and know your condition to engage, for example, if they have a fed

Oh, so you reached the end of the guide? Let me show you a very interesting build i've been playing, this build is good in pretty much every team comp, but it shines more in the ones you need to tank a lot of damage and can freely hit after that, and when your team is full damage as well.

if they have many CC, but is very good to increase damage. Your early game might be a little weaker, but once you get your
and you'll be activating the effect of both a LOT, especially with your Q.You also wanna go 3Q + Max E with this build.
