Jinx 12.14+ Guide (Insane Secret Tech)

My guide to jinx following the big 12.10 patch.

Jinx Current State (12.7) and (12.10)

THIS BUILD STILL HOLDS TRUE IN 12.10

Jinx is seriously strong right now, She is by far the best ADC in the vast majority of games. However a series of indirect nerfs i believe have impacted Jinx and allowed for a new build path of Bloodthirster second item to be viable, as well as a revert back to kraken slayer as the optimal mythic and Alacrity > Bloodline.

The Nerfs:

The first impactful nerf was 12.6 when the global lifesteal nerfs took place.

The biggest nerfs was Bloodline going from 9% lifesteal --> 6% lifesteal (+100hp) at max stacks and Vampiric Scepter going from 10% lifesteal --> 8% lifesteal These nerfs however didnt impact Jinx's safety all too much due to the short cooldown on Galeforce, which being reduced by ingenious hunter even further, and the range advantages Jinx has from her base range, rapid firecannon, and lethal tempo.

However in 12.7 Galeforce was also nerfed. Heavily!

ACTIVE COOLDOWN 90 seconds ⇒ 110 seconds

These nerfs lead me to believe Kraken is the best mythic to now go on Jinx, and to seek safety in Bloodthirster second is a great choice.

Why Kraken > Galeforce ?

Galeforce is obviously the more defensive item, therefore its not a suprise that the DPS difference between the 2 exists. However the DPS difference scales. Kraken gives more AD, more Attack Speed and an AD scaling True Damage every 3rd auto, aswell as 10% attack speed from each item completion. Whereas Galeforce gives less stats, a low damage dash and 2% movement speed per item completion. The clear winner is Kraken here, however the Galeforce dash is sometimes needed, which make the item useful. That being said Galeforce dash is now 110 second cooldown without ingenious and the DPS difference is not worth sacrifcing for this long cooldown short dash.

As well as this; The build i am currently using lacks attack speed due to skipping an attack speed item second and Kraken slayer helps makes up for that lack in attack speed with the mythic passive. Although Galeforce isnt the best mythic with Bloodthrister second, it is still viable i believe when you need the dash, Bloodthirster gives more damage than firecannon and more safety.

Although pros are not picking bloodthrister second, they are reverting back to Kraken. If you take anything from this guide i believe that picking kraken especially below Masters+ will increase your winrate.

Why Bloodthirster?

I believe Bloodthirster is the perfect second item due to it not being effected once completed by the lifesteal nerfs sitting at a heafty 20%, an insane amount of lifesteal. This lifesteal allows for you to trade agressively with champs when poking because you regen so quickly just from 1 or 2 autos making the item extremely forgiving and easy to gain value out of. Bloodthrister gives you a large amount of 3 stats you need on Jinx, AD, Crit, and lifesteal. As well as a effective safety passive.

Another small benefit for Bloodthirster second is the large AD gained compared to any attack speed item. This is due to your W (zap) and R (super mega death rocket) scalings. Zap scaling( + 160% AD ) and Super Mega Death Rocket scaling (+150% bonus AD). W (zap) is almost always being used in fights to hit crucial targets or engage a fight or to poke members before a fight and R (super mega death rocket) allows you to reach lethal threshhold quicker due to it doing more damage. (TLDR: Both of these abilities really benefit from the AD gained from Bloodthirster over an Attack Speed item)

The only thing missing from this build is Attack Speed!

Why Alacrity?

I believe when you take Bloodthirster second it allows you to avoid taking Bloodline and instead take Alacrity for the Attack Speed you are missing in your build. Alacrity in my opinion is not even comparable to Bloodline when you have lifesteal in your build, which in this case we do. Attack Speed directly impacts your DPS whereas lifesteal and HP doesn't and are not needed due to the safety gained from Bloodthirster. The Attack Speed also pairs nicely with your Kraken passive to further increase DPS.
