About Me
Hi, my name is Godlyysek and I've been playing Gangplank for about a year now.
I mainly play on the EUNE server (IGN: TheGodlyGodSVK) where I was Plat III last season and plan to hit Diamond this season using only GP. I am a top lane main and have been for about 5 seasons now. I have 500k mastery points on GP as of today.
I have used many resources to learn this champion and I'll try to combine everything I've learned into this guide.
About Gangplank:
Gangplank is a very hard champion to master. He has a very high skill floor which a lot of people will not like. However, if you are willing to put in the games, then GP becomes incredibly fun and rewarding.
I also have a twitch channel where I occasionally stream. You can check it out below if you'd want to! :)
Runes
There are 2 most used keystones for Gangplank - Grasp of the Undying and First Strike.
At the beginning of the guide there is a rune page that is, in my humble opinion, the best for Gangplank for intermediate and experienced players. It is riskier but also more rewarding.
If you are starting out with Gangplank, I highly recommend using Grasp as it is a safer and tankier option of the two. Below is a setup that I would recommend using. And don't worry, you won't lose out on those juicy one shots with these runes.
The runes below are the ones I would take most of the time but I explained below every various options you have depending on matchups.
Grasp Rune Page.
Here, you have a few options depending on matchups. You take
against very burst-heavy matchups like Riven, Irelia or Camille. And against poke matchups like Gnar, Vayne, Singed or against any ranged matchup. Note: Never take Bone plating against a ranged matchup because they can just remove it with one auto attack.
You can also take
against matchups where you will trade a lot.In the secondary tree you can take
if you prefer that over either of the other 2 options or you can take if you are against a heavy poke matchup.
is good if you want to trade and force duels a lot and want your summoner spells off-cooldown more. (I only recommend taking this if you are running ignite). (Usually take this against matchups where you are confident you can snowball)
First Strike Rune Page!
In the primary tree you have the option of taking either
which I would take most of the time and which I would take against any matchup that can easily dive you or you can cancel their ult with it (
Yone ,
Kayle ).Secondly, you can again take
against any poke heavy matchup!Lastly in the primary tree there is the option of taking
for more frequent duel opprotunities. (Usually take this against matchups where you are confident you can snowball). Now for the secondary tree:
You can take
you plan on playing with Manamune.
is in my opinion the best selection in the second row, however, is not to be underestimated. I just think the CDR is way too good to pass up so I always take this rune.Lastly, there is
to have a little bit more lane bullying potential but I don't think it's worth dropping for.I take this every Rune Page:
Adaptive + Adaptive + Armor / Magic Resist ( Depending on matchup damage type )
This guide is aimed at beginner - Intermediate Gangplank players which is why I won't include the
, as well as other pages. Summoner Spells
Take
every game! Then, you have the option of running either
, or .I take
into every matchup besides ones that I simply can't kill (Tanks or unfavourable matchups which i will talk about later).I also like running
most of the time because sometimes you will get lane opponents that have some kind of healing in their kit -
Aatrox ,
Fiora ,
Irelia ...Take
into every matchup where you don't think you have any kill pressure on your lane opponent.Lastly, take
into matchups where you will most likely lose an all-in. This includes
Riven ,
Akshan or sometimes
Irelia . This also includes any matchup that you have experience in getting one shot or all-inned frequently in.Skill Path
You have 2 options here, both being pretty much identical, it's only about what you put your point into on level 3.
Start Q , level 2 put point in E and then by level 3 you will have figured out if you are either:
a) having lane priority and slow pushing into the enemy, in which case take another point in Q for more poke as they can not engage on you with a big wave.
b) the lane is even or you are being pushed into, in which case you take W on level 3 for better trading and sustain.

Gangplank

Gangplank
Item Builds
There are 3 most popular Mythics to run on Gangplank - Triforce, Prowler and Duskblade.
I will be showing you the Triforce and Prowler in this guide. Now, I wanna explain the strengths and weaknesses of these 2 builds.
is a great consistent option in my opinion, I recently started taking in every single game and I've been having great success. It is also a mythic item which means you will get your power spike a little bit eariler but you will do less damage than with the when you compare both builds.
also has a more versatile build path where you have lots of different choices for items you can buy. is known as the one shot build and it usually relies on doing big crits because it has almost no utility. It is very fun, however. I recommend you start off with the Triforce build if you are a beginner as it gives you more health and attack speed which means you will get out timed on your barrels a lot less.Starting Items
is the best start in pretty much every game. is a good start but it will punish bad trades as you won't have the extra damage and the sustain. Always buy
first! If you have around a 1,000 gold when you recall, you can buy
/ with your .If you are forced to recall and don't have enough for a Sheen, buy a
if you're ahead, if you're getting poked down or if you want to farm.Triforce Build
So, first item is always Triforce. I usually build Sheen -> Hearthbound Axe -> Kindlegem.
Second item depends on the matchup. If my lane opponent or the enemy team has a lot of healing, I take
, if I am facing a tank, I go for , if it's a shield heavy team I would go for .If it's none of those, I'd go for The Collector. Next item depends on their team.
I will explain what situation every item is good for:
: If the enemy doesn't have a lot of tanks. I would avoid this item if the enemy had 3 tanky champions above 3,000 health.
: If the enemy team has an annoying amount of healing. I would buy this anytime there is at least 1 healing champion (Aatrox, Yone, Vlad, ...), unless they are very behind.
: If the enemy team is tanky, or if I'm laning against a tank I'd buy this as a 2nd item.
: Just a crit damage amplification item. Avoid this if you are below 40% crit. I personally buy this whenever im at 40% or 60%.
: Great and relatively cheap lethality item that gives you a really good amount of movement speed. Combined with Mortal Reminder's 7% extra speed can easily replace your boots. I usually only buy this earlier if I the enemy team doesn't have any significant healing or shielding. However I always buy this as my last item that replaces my boots.
: This is now a great item for Gangplank since it works for magic damage as well now. I recommend buying this against burst-heavy teams where you find yourself getting one-shot in teamfights.
: Speaking of getting one-shot, this is another great anti burst item. You can also buy this alongside Death's Dance if you really need it but that'd be an overkill in my opinion. This is a tankier version of Death's Dance that does less damage. It is also 200 gold cheaper. Buy this if you wanna be a bit more tanky. You won't lose out on that much damage against Death's Dance but i think it's just better to buy DD as it is quite strong this patch.
: Buy this if the enemy team has a lot of shields. I would personally buy this as like my 4th or 5th item if the enemy team has something like a Lulu or a Janna, however, if they have more shields than that, maybe like an Ivern, I'd buy this as my second item if possible.
: I don't like buying this as I will not hit my 80% crit chance with this and honestly 60% really doesn't feel that great. I would only buy this if I was going for . This item provides great damage but it offers no crit.Don't worry about trying new things! That's the beauty of GP, you can find something that suits your playstyle!
Prowler's Build
This build order is kinda non-flexible but you can always replace Lord Dom's with Mortal Reminder and you can take Manamune or Death's Dance if needed.
Boots
are the most common buy, they offer a very satisfying amount of ability haste but they offer no survivability. I always build these when I don't think any of the enemies specifically is a big threat.
are a great choice against an AD oriented team or a team with auto attacking champions, for example, I'd buy this against a Kayle. People usually only look at the Armor part of the boots and dont realize it's great against most auto attack based champions.
are the go-to option against either AP heavy teams ( I'd also go this if they had a combination of AP top and AP jungle ) or teams with a lot of CC.
are really great but the only thing they give you is more movement speed which is really nice but you have to be very confident in your ability. You will have a longer recharge time on barrels as well as less defensive stats so be careful. I love these boots especially with the Triforce build because you can hit absolutely insane movespeeds if you take as well. Matchups and Synergies
Aatrox is a very annoying matchup. I always take ignite into him to have some kind of healing reduction before I get my Mortal Reminder. If you are going TP, I recommend buying Executioner's Calling right after you buy Sheen. If ignite, then you can delay it and buy Trinity Force and then Executioner's -> Mortal Reminder.
This matchup takes some experience to master as you also need to dodge at least 1 if his Qs to win trades. You should try just killing him with passive resets as that will melt him very quickly before he can get an extended fight.
Remember: Mortal Reminder 2nd item!
Akali is a very easy matchup in my opinion. The only annoying part is the shroud but your barrels can cover a lot of the shroud area. She is weak early and you will poke her down. Make sure you don't take too many Qs -> Autos from her. Once you have barrels, you can zone her from farm easily.
One of the stupidest matchups honestly. I hate this champion. It can practically oneshot your barrels and then you right after. Not much you can do early, except good runes. I would always take Grasp, Demolish, Second Wind, Revitalize + Biscuit Delivery with Timewarp Tonic. Take TP or Exhaust.
A good camille will feel like the biggest counter. I can beat camille pretty comfortably unless she is really really good. The trick is to bait out her passive when she is not near a wall and then trade and make sure there is a barrel under you at all times when close to a wall so if she does E into you, you can orange and Q the barrel right as she lands on you. Once you get Triforce it becomes easier but still be careful of this stupid champ.
He is very weak early but his Q cooldown is annoyingly low. Poke him down and make sure to proc your passive on his ass as much as possible. When you get barrels make sure he doesn't get to farm. If he Q's you, make sure to orange to fight back because you will very quickly get hit by another Q because of the stupid slow. I would buy Lord Dom's second item if possible and run ignite to punish his weak early game.
Very easy matchup in my opinion but can get hard if you don't know what you're doing against this champion. Make sure to not get cheesed level 1 in tribrush if you are starting red side. Always look to fight him in a big wave because that allows you to tank even 5 stacks of his passive and still win the fight. Very important is to walk INTO the inner part of his Q if the edge is gonna hit you. This matchup is about wave management mostly imo. Get good recall timings.
Very easy matchup objectively. Take ignite and buy Mortal Reminder second item as with Aatrox. When this guy gets some armor he will only die to your passives so make sure you learn passive resets which I will explain later in this guide. Also make sure to stand in your minion wave to not get hit by his Q and keep a barrel next to you to zone him away.
Skill matchup. If you lose to her, don't worry, it's just a lack of experience. Make sure to keep an eye out on her vitals on you. Always reset them if they are facing her by simply walking away from her a little. If it's not facing her then stand close to a wall with the vital facing the wall or make sure it's as far from her as possible which means she will have to use 2 Qs to proc it which will give you time to full combo her. Fioras will most likely W as soon as they Q into you if you have a barrel under you so be careful. Every player might do it differently so keep an eye out on what she does and adapt. Again, don't forget anti-heal!
Considered a hard counter, I find this matchup to be quite even. You can take either Ignite or TP and keep a barrel under you at all times! Garens will try to stay out of your Q range and when you come closer to Q, they will charge at you but you already have a barrel nearby so just pop that bad boy on them and it will slow them which they can't remove because they just used Q. Now, you can either walk away or you can place down another barrel, hit them with passive from the previous one, pop the new one and get another passive on them. All depending if you are winning the trade or not. If a garen gets on top of you post 6 with ignite, you are pretty much dead.
Just an annoying ranged top. Take grasp, poke and farm. Not much else to be done. DO NOT fight him when he is about to hit Mega Gnar. He can kite well so if you miss a single barrel you might die. Other than that, it's a fairly easy matchup.
Very easy matchup in my opinion. Take ignite and poke her down early. When she gets her little area ability, she will start dodging your barrels with it which will be annoying but just try to set up a slow push, reset and then freeze the wave with sheen. Make sure to also buy antiheal!
Just ew. Nothing you can do here except wait for jungle or to hit a barrel after level 7. This champ will just sit there with his 3 turrets perma pushing the wave into you so it's free farm but be careful not to get too poked out. Take TP to not lose farm. Grasp defensive runes with second wind and buscuits. If you hit a barrel, this guy is pretty much dead. Just W his E the second it hits you because he will R + W you.
Annoying matchup that will feel unfair but this champ is really bad. If you go for an all-in and she ults, just walk away and then keep poking with Qs and barrels. I take ignite so she doesnt heal as much but TP is a great option. Both rune pages are great! If you can dodge her E, she does no damage.
Skill matchup. The trick is not to go near her when she is about to hit 4 stacks. ALWAYS keep an eye on your minions' health. Also always keep a barrel near you and your minions so if she does want to go for them, she will get hit with barrels. Grasp is great for better early game here but both pages are good. Make sure to buy antiheal asap. It's quite hard to dodge her E so don't rely on it and make sure to always W it and Q a barrel that's under you.
Jax is very easy early game but his scaling is scary. ALWAYS have a barrel under you. A good jax will E Q onto you and instead of hitting you, he will break your barrel so you have to either have the barrel a tiny bit out of his auto range or have very very quick reactions and Q it before he autos. If you can do that, you win every trade pre-6. I would be very careful fighting this guy once he gets 2-3 items. But by then you'd have hopefully set him behind enough.
Annoying guy but the trick is to always have a barrel under you and DO NOT get hit by his ranged E Q! You outscale him if you don't give him kills early. Take Grasp and poke but always look out for that EQ from him. He will only go into melee if he wants to full combo you so when he melee Q's you, make sure you always have that barrel ready under you.
You can dodge this one in champ select and save your sanity.
Extremely weak early, HOWEVER, if she has lethal temo, DO NOT fight her long enough to get her stacks up! Pre-6 it's just about poking her down and zoning her from farm. You can afford to tank a few Q's and E's if it means she won't get to use them to farm. She will most likely try to E your barrel if you are zoning her hard so be ready to outtime her and barrel her. It all just takes practice. Post 6 if you can hit one barrel you should be able to catch her and hit her with another one and soon after kill her. Even with her ult.
Same treatment as Gnar, it's just a slightly annoying ranged toplaner.
Kled will hurt, I recommend taking Grasp and bone plating into this guy. He can't control when to use his W which means you should always fight him AFTER he used it on minions! If he does you can go for a trade. You can afford to lose a couple minions to this guy as he is scary. If he jumps on you in your own back wave, you can passive -> barrel -> passive and most likely win that trade. Just make sure to play a bit safer early.
Very annoying. The only time you will get to poke him down is pre-6. He will stack way too much armor way too quickly so you can either go for Prowler build and scale or you can go for Triforce -> Lord Dom's. You can only really beat this guy with passive resets.
Very easy matchup, make sure to chip away at him with barrels and Qs and when he ults you, just W. You don't win an extended fight in his passive so make sure he is low enough to fight him. I also recommend antiheal because he will heal a surprising amount.
Do not let him stack too much! This guy is weak early. You can pull the wave on level one to set up a slow push to you OR you can slow push into him, which i would recommend, and then reset after you crash the cannon wave under his tower. When you come back with sheen, you can freeze the wave and even ask for jungle to gank. Do not perma push into him as that is exactly what he wants. You will beat him at every stage of the game if you didn't let him stack.
A less annoying malphite. Go for Lord Dom's second or the Prowler build.
Very scary matchup. Make sure to wait out his E before doing anything to him. He will use his entire combo on you and then run away, hoping you waste your damage into his shield, which you won't do. So as soon as he is done bursting you, you slow him with barrel and you win the trade because he just used everything. W whenever you are low in lane.
Very easy, nothing specific besides not fighting her when she is passive shielded.
The new Quinn can hurt a lot. I recommend just going anti poke runes with Second wind and Biscuits. Quinn basically has a TP in her hit so you can never crash a wave under her tower. Just farm up and outscale. If you see an opportunity to fight her, go for it. Don't be scared to limittest. If she freezes the wave on you, try to break it with barrels from afar.
You can either go for grasp -> Bone Plating OR you can run First Strike and resolve secondary with Bone Plating. Try to stay far from him to make him use both E charges to get to you before fighting him. You can only really beat this guy with passive resets as he is surprisingly tanky. I would stay away from fighting him pre-3 and be careful after 6. After you both get an item, you have a better chance of beating him. Buy antiheal for his Q and Goredrinker!
Always stay in your minion wave and have a ward in the bush at all times if possible. Even consider a control ward in the bush early. He can't outtrade you if you are standing in the minion wave and have a barrel under you and passive ready. He either has to target the barrel which will give you the opportunity to auto -> Q him and make it an even trade or he misses the barrel and he dies. Don't fight him pre-3 tho.
Disgusting champ. Take exhaust or TP and abuse her pre-6 if you can. If she starts E, don't bother wasting mana on her and just slow push the wave and reset for sheen. Post-6 you auto lose. Make sure to buy Death's Dance or Sterak's as 2nd or 3rd item. And Steelcaps EARLY! Grasp + Bone plating is necessary.
Played this matchup like twice this season. Can't seem to find any of them. Generally it's quite easy, just slow him with barrel if he Q's you and you will win every trade. Don't stand in his ult tho.
Very annoying matchup, similar to Heimer, this guy will pretty much perma push the wave if he wants to poke you. Just get anti poke runes and try to survive. You won't ever kill this guy with Phase Rush so it's either farm up and don't feed or get your jungler to CC him long enough. He will even outrun your ult slow + your barrel slow.
The key thing with Sett is to never get pulled by his E. Or, if you do, dodge the center of his W. I like to just place barrels around him when im fighting him and just walk around him in circles, changing direction, so you can dodge it really easily. He does a lot more damage than you pre-3 but after that if you can dodge W and get a barrel on him, you win the trade.
Very abusable lane, just don't get hit by empowered Q autos. And don't ever get too deep under his tower or he will just E you. Slow push early and instead of recalling, poke him under tower from behind your minions so if he does decide to E you, you will only take 1 tower shot while he will take your passive the whole wave and then probably a barrel to the face as well. If you can kill him like that, the lane is over.
This guy can go 0/20 and be more useful than your adc so it really doesn't matter what you do against him. Make sure to stand in your jungle level one expecting him to proxy. If he does, scare him away and walk to lane. He will proxy at some point but the later the better. You win this matchup easily but once he starts proxying the only thing you can do is ask the jungler for help if he happens to be in the area. You will never catch this guy so just focus on farm and tower damage.
Very easy early game. DO NOT get cheesed from the bush! Just poke him down with barrels and Qs. Wait for his shield to pop before using any abilities (it also eats the passive). If he goes tank, look for Lord Dom's 2nd and if he goes Prowler, look for Collector or Youmuu's. There is no specifics to this matchup besides just dodging his Q which should be obvious.
Quite an easy matchup in my opinion. Make sure to get antiheal ASAP against this guy. Also stay in your minion wave so he can't E you AND if he Q's you, he pushes the entire wave to you.
Just pick Yorick and make this guy's life miserable for even picking this champ.
If you decide to play gp into this then it's similar to malphite but on steroids. He does way too much damage so you can't win pre-mythic but after that it might be doable. Make sure to go for Lord Dom's and get as many passives on him as possible. DODGE Q, very important. Make sure to build a big wave so if the jungler ganks you, you get a double.
Very easy, just trade your Q for his Q and an auto which will favour you even tho you lose the trade, Teemo has really low base health and you have 3 corrupting pots so you can easily win lane against him. Buy Sweeper or control wards early against him. dont forget to W his Q asap if you have a barrel under you so you can auto it.
I very rarely see this but when I do it's literally Riven on steroids. I'd just dodge if i got this on top. It's an unwinnable lane in my opinion. His slow lasts WAY longer than yours and is twice as strong. He will catch you very easily.
Another very hard lane. You absolutely have to have barrels under you at all times. He will spin on you and try to break it, so you have to be quicker. If you can do that, make sure to passive auto him and Q on the way while you're running away and hoping he doesn't dive you. If you are low and he has ult, just ult the wave and reset. This matchup takes skill and I still lose it most of the time.
Urgot might seem like a hard counter but he really isn't. The trick is to place the barrel far away from him and then combine it with another barrel to poke him or trade with him. Passive resets melt this guy hard. If he misses E he is most likely dead. Quick tip: You can W his ult, but only in the pulling animation!
Doggy vayne top abusers. Take Grasp and antipoke runes. Same as Teemo, she has very low base health so you can afford to take slightly bad trades and use corrupting potion to heal up. Don't let her take an extended trade by standing too far from your wave. Always stay near your wave with a barrel under you. You can even take exhaust if you want to. If she ults, just use barrel for move speed to catch up to her, you don't even need to hit her with it, just get your passive reset from it and get the move speed to catch up.
Played this matchup once this season. Seems people only pick him into GP to counter him even tho they can't play it. Antipoke runes and TP, you won't really be able to kill this guy pre-6 unless he messes up hard. And soon after he will get Crown which will be a pain in the ass. You lose most trades unless you hit a barrel. His Q auto is really fast so he will basically insta kill your barrels. Just play safe and farm up, only trade if he doesnt kill your barrel and messes up. If you get past his W it's a free kill or forced flash.
A good vlad will make your life a living hell. I hate this champion. Build antiheal ASAP. I'd buy executioner's after sheen even if i had ignite just to negate the sustain. I recommend going first strike with stopwatch runes to counter his first all in. After that, just try to poke him down and never get close if he has his stacked Q ready. He will delete you.
Very easy pre-6. Quick tip - don't take bone plating as his passive will break it every time. Have a barrel under you but if you see him casting his E, move away from it and place a new one because he wants to go for a trade or poke, whichever it is, you win the trade because you didn't get hit by E and if he wants to get the shield he has to walk to your previous location and waste time whie you can Q him. Post-6 be careful of dives and make sure to stay healthy and always avoid his E.
Easy matchup. Wukong's strongest point is his early game, especially levels 1-2. Most wukongs will just you level 1 with E and tank the whole wave. Now, this would be a favourable trade for them if you weren't GP but you have your passive and your Q. If you run grasp make sure to have it ready if possible. Anyway, you win the trade any time he does that and if he EQs you into W, just pop the barrel under you and follow him for passive and Q proc.
Very mobile, which will make hitting barrels a little harder but he is very weak if he can't break your barrels. Make sure to remove his passive shield with Q before you passive or barrel him. He will sometimes W your Q but don't worry, just keep them coming. If he ever jumps on you, you have to pop your barrel otherwise you lose the trade. You can W his ult, it will still do damage but you can move.
One of my favourite matchups. It's stupidly easy if the Yone isn't running Fleet. You win every trade, even if he uses E. I recommend taking Stopwatch rune to disable his first ult and give you a free lane for 2 minutes. You can even win without barrels if he misses 3rd Q.
Really hard matchup, I can't seem to find enough Yorick players either so I don't have a lot of experience but the most important thing is to not get hit by E. It's pretty much impossible because of how frequently he can cast it. Best thing you can do is ask jungle for help but even then he most likely set up a slow push and will have a giant wave. I'd personally dodge this champ.
Just ew. She practically oneshots your barrels, has an insane amount of kiting in her kit and is ranged. Antipoke runes with Steelcaps rush after sheen and hope for the best. You hit her with a single barrel, she jumps away so there is no point ever trying to kill her unless you see her waste it. You win 10/10 times if she does so.
Combos
There are multiple combos you can do on Gangplank, most of them take lots of practice to perfect and do consistently. It will take a lot of time and effort to learn them. Some of them however are relatively easy to pick up and implement into your games.
Let's start with the easier ones and we'll move up to the harder ones.
Double Barrel
This is the most basic and most important GP combo to learn. It requires no precise timings of barrel placement or anything.
Or with a Q :
The double barrel combo is simply having one barrel tick down to 1 health (or attacking it so it reaches 1 health quicker) and then placing another barrel near it so they connect and then you can auto attack or Q the first barrel and it will explode both barrels.
Triple Barrel Combo
The triple barrel combo is a little harder to explain. You have to place 2 barrels that are connected, then Q the first barrel and as soon as you Q, you have to place another barrel after the second one and it will explode as well. You can do this for any number of barrels you want (even 2, but that one is hard and i'll show that one in a bit), here is an example of a 4 barrel combo, which is really never used in game as the 2 barrel and 3 barrel combos are more than enough.
Notice how the target dummy only took damage once even though it was hit with 2 barrels, a single chain of barrels can only do damage once to any single enemy.
Triple Barrel with Autoattack
This combo is much harder than a simple triple barrel as it requires much more precise timings. I personally don't ever use this combo as it just feels too inconsistent for me. It's all about timing that third barrel but it's satisfying when you hit it.
Now for the most satisfying combo to hit on GP..
One Part Combo
This combo is very hard to master and takes a lot of practice to even get it somewhat consistently. I can't do it half the time honestly. I had to take this video twice!
So how this combo works is you place a barrel and when it ticks down to 1 health, you Q it as usual but as you cast your Q, you have to instantly place a barrel within your E range white the Q is travelling. Feel free to slow down the video to see in better! This is incredibly hard to perform and will take practice. Just hop into practice range and try it for yourself! I also recommend trying this when you go into a side lane to pick up a wave to practice this. It will give you a more real environment to do it. And, of course, on your lane opponents. But this will sometimes force you to play safe as you wasted your barrels if you mess it up. I also recommend placing a barrel in a top bush closest to your opponent on level 2 as soon as you get your E. That way you can use this combo and they won't expect it.
Passive Reset
Breaking a barrel will reset your passive cooldown. You can use this to your advantage by including one part combos in your trading pattern like this:
You can proc passive 3 times in a single trade using this combo. You auto attack first with passive and then one part from the bush. While the first barrel is exploding you can throw in an auto attack and then the second barrel explodes and you auto once more. Voila, you just used passive 3 times. This will delete almost anyone. Use this especially against tanks as there is no other way to beat them really. This was done on level 13 with no items so with Triforce attack speed its even smoother.
Tips and Tricks
Always keep placing Barrels. Make this a habit. Whenever you trade and use a barrel, place down another one right after. Make sure to keep popping the passives. If you are getting all-inned, pop a barrel, start running and place a barrel on your way and make sure you maximize the passive uptime and barrel damage.
If you are using , make sure to keep auto attacking minions whenever it's about to expire to keep it up at all times and use it whenever it's ready. Ult upgrades are as follows : Fire at Will -> Raise Morale -> Death's Daughter.
Most of the time you are looking to hit the wave first, start a slow push and get a Sheen after crashing the cannon wave.
Trial by Fire also works on towers, so whenever you are pushing the tower, place 2 Barrels down and Q the first one and as it's exploding you auto attack the tower twice for 2 additional passive procs for very quick turret damage. You can also Flash to extend the range of your barrels. This is especially useful when using the triple barrel combo as you can flash right after you Q the first one and place your third barrel down further.
