Intro
Fired up and ready to serve! Hey, I am Sondly. EX-Amatuer League Support player that played for CB Vegas/CBZ in the Gold Victoris League. I started playing Ranked LOL in Season 2020 where I hit Silver. I then hit Gold the following season, with my highest rank being Gold 2. I play on the NA fiesta servers. Currently sitting at 230k mastery on Blitzcrank.
Blitzcrank is a very powerful champ, and this power is magnified in lower elos when enemy players don't respect his range and positioning. Late game he tends to struggle but he is a champion that can always be useful in any game state.

Runes
Blitzcrank really has a choice between two main paths of runes. One is more typical while another is experimental due to its recent changes causing it to be volatile and not 100% understood.
I will always recommend CDR rune and usually an armor. Depending on the comp you are playing into, you may need to go double armor (full ad), armor and health (typically the best) or magic resist and health (poke support or ap carry). Use these choices for your gameplan. IE roaming / staying in lane may change your build path a bit but typically you should focus on the runes that will get you through laning. I prefer to not run demolish because I give my ADC solo plate gold (300 gold on them VS splitting it)

Summoner Spells
Summoner spells are pretty self explanatory if you have played any hook champion.
Rarely do you have to swap ignite for exhaust unless you know you will have zero pressure in lane AND get stomped.

Q > W > E max is my favorite. I play a more roaming style which allows me to have high pressure on the map due to maxing W first. I used to think E max second was good until I tried out W. W max second lets you be relevant in game for longer before you fall off past 30 minutes.

Item Builds
The great part about playing a hook champion is that your build doesn't matter as much as other support champions. This lets you find your own unique builds, but I'd always recommend to build off your current game instead of a guide. This guide will "work" for a large amount of games, but everything is situational.
Situations can vary, but I typically build on how I see my team preforming. Items like Zeke's Convergence and Knight's Vow are great when your team is ahead as they help your team stay ahead. I don't recommend building them if your team needs to stall out and wait for someone to scale. At that point, you should look for more situational items to become tanky against the enemy teams carries.

Blitzcrank can be played into any champion and with any comp. I perma ban Leona because she is super useful into Blitzcrank to the point where there isn't much room for outplay on our end.
