Akshan Top Lane
Despite all the nerfs that Akshan got in the last few patches and in patch 12.3 he is still a lane bully and can hard carry games especially in low elo where players don't know how to play against him. The nerfs on his passive are big but this is a champion that can outmaneuver almost every enemy and still do great amounts of damage while running and staying in motion.
>Press the Attack combined with Coup De Grace will help you duel every enemy as well as secure most of the kills.
>Presence of Mind will help you with the early to mid game poke and harass with your Q, letting you stack your passive faster and much more easily.
>Legend: Alacrity and the Offence + 10% Attack Speed will let you again stack your passive faster giving you a nice extra damage and reliable shield in short trades.
>Taste of Blood combined with Ravenous Hunter allows you to stay longer in lane in the early to mid game so you can focus on farming for your key items. Both Runes will also let you win most short trades.
- Best Runes
- Vs Bad Matchups
When your versus a champion with dashes or leaps or in general a bad matchup you would want to go as secondary Resolve. Shield Bash combined with Bone plating will help you mitigate some damage in these scenarios as well as return a bit of damage yourself. Waiting for your shield bash combined with your passive will let you trade safely versus champions like Shen, Jax, Gwen, Renekton and many others.
For Summoners taking Flash and Ignite is the best way to deal with most meta top laners. Flash will help you escape ganks and bad situations. You can also use it to secure kills and reposition for your ULT when necessary. Ignite is good especially when your versus champions who have good healing or survivability and as a nice bonus the vision that it gives you of the target can get you some kill with your ULT. Usually ADC are not that good with Ignite but because of the short range on auto attacks and combined with your ULT execute you will be able to score some early kills.

For your items Getting your Berserker's Graves or atleast Boots is Key to playing Akshan in the early game because you need the movement speed to keep distance from your enemy as well as poke. Because your very squishy and easy to gank especially when you apply pressure to the enemy top laner you will need to rush your Boots and buy Control wards whenever you can. The extra mobility from the boots combined with your E and your passive will help you avoid ganks and escape most junglers in the early to mid game.
You will want to build as soon as possible Noonquiver with Vampiric Scepter. This will allow you to do lost of damage from your passive as well as heal and stay in lane as long as you can so you can keep the pressure on your enemy and farm.
Kraken Slayer and Blade of the Ruined King combine will with your passive and with your onhit- hight damage build. Also they will allow you to proc your critical strikes much more often.
The Collector works great with your Comeuppance and with your E. This means that no kill will be able to escape you and you can go roam to mid or even bot.
Mortal Reminder and Rapid Firecannon are great for that ultra fast movement speed fantasy. You will be able to roam and gank very fast because of the extra movement speed and/ or extra range to help get kills. The Grievous Wounds from Mortal Reminder will help you counter most Immortal Shieldbow builds and will let you get easy kills on champions like Yone, Yasuo, even Irelia and lots of others. Mortal Reminder is also good combined with Lord Dominik's Regards against champions like Shen, Garen, Mundo, Orn and many others who are a lot more Tanky than you and will help you whittle them down faster.
- Skill Path
Akshan is a short ranged ADC with lots of mobility and outplay potential from his passive and E ability. His passive gives him lots of damage and mobility and a bit of survivability. You have to make sure you abuse this and look for trades in the early to mid game because that is when Akshan thrives the most. You want to get a early lead as much as possible because Akshan falls out a bit in strength in the late game. On Top lane as well as on Bot he usually is able to out maneuver most of his opponents and get easy poke damage. Playing around your passive double shot and auto attack cancel bonus movement speed is key. You need to try and stack your passive on the enemy as often as possible with your Q and autoattacks. This is kind of easy especially vs slower champions and with your Q you can hit the enemy behind minions. Look to take trades as soon as you reach level 2, when you will take one point in E so you have an escape tool if things go wrong or you can go in only in some cases for a quick kill using your Q and if the enemy is low enough follow up with E to finish them off. You want to poke as much as you can with auto attacks and Q. Pressure the enemy but try and freeze the lane in the same time. At level 3 take another point in E or Q depending witch one you want to max out first ( depends on what you feel more comfortable with, for me that is E ). After level 4 and if you have lane priority you can take a point in W and look to rome mid or help your jungler. Wards will be your best friends most of the times. You are very squishy before you get your life steal so you will need to buy control wards and keep and eye on the enemy lanes. When you have no ward try and save your E only for escape. In general you dont want to trade with your E because its more of an escape tool or a kill secure one. Try and poke most of the time only with your auto attacks and your Q. You want to snowball as much as you can by roaming after level 4 or 6 and you want to apply as much pressure to your lane in the same time. Be careful when you use Comeuppance because it can get blocked by other champions, minions and towers. Try to use it in combination with your E so you can get a clear shot or when the target is isolated in the river or between lanes. Another important thing about the ULT is that Akshan deals damage based on missing health so try and use it only when the time is right. Using your ULT off cooldown is not always the best option especially when you can catch the enemy with your E instead. E gets reset on enemy champion kills so you can even go in for a tower dive on level 3 or 4 and get out with Flash or E again. Still if you tower dive so early in the game try and have your passive up and use minions to your advantage. You should also know that your E can get stopped and blocked by enemy champions so it is best used in open spaces. Power spike- Akshans power spikes are on level 2 when he gets his first point in E as well as level 5 and 6 because your ULT gets you lots of kill potential and the extra points in E or Q are very good as well. Going back to lane - When you go back to lane try and use your E to get back a bit faster by the time you reach your lane it will be almost off of cooldown or a round half way. When you are very close to your tower try and use your W and stick to the wall so you can surprise your opponent and get a free double auto and Q in for the extra damage.
When you roam don't forget that you can't be seen by normal wards with your W ( controll wards will still reveal you ) this will let you get behind the enemy and surprise them for a fast kill.
Teamfights- when your in a team fight try and keep your distance and dont forget you want to outmaneuver your opponents. Try and stay in the open so you have more space to use your E and to move around with your movement speed from your passive. After Akshans nerfs we cant just stay in one place and fire like a auto turret machine gun. You are the Key Part in most team fight especially if you have your core items or your fed and had a good early to mid game. It may not be the best thing for your teammates but letting them die is an option as long as you can ultimatly win the team fight after that by reviving them and getting and ACE. It may sound a bit selfish but it is better to reposition or even leave a team fight as long as you can hunt down the enemies aster that for some free kills and revives. Try and isolate or surprise the enemy ADC or APC because they will be easy for you to pick off. Use your W to enter teamfights and go in from the back so you can hard focus on the enemy carry.
Good against- Akshan can hard counter champions with low mobility and on top lane he can counter even lane bullies like Darius, Ornn, Shen Illaoi and so on. His high movement speed allows him to get lots of damage and on top of that you have mixed damage from your passive, this combined with Kraken Slayer and Blade of the Ruined King will make you a Tank and Bruiser destroyer.
Weak against - Akshan is a bit weak against champions like Jax or Irelia because they can jump on him or stun him. His low HP make him very squish versus champions with good mobility so try and play safe and poke when you can. Go in only when you have your passive shield and your E as a means of escape.
Jungle and ADC main :D. Vi is my favourite champion in the game.
