Why this guide?

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

There are a few good

Akali
guides on this site and I recommend you to check them out. I had to make one myself as I'm an
Akali
main as well.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Pros & Cons

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Pros:

High mobility

Lots of burst damage

Outplay potential

Really fun to play

Can one shot almost everyone

Cons:

Hard to play

Melee champion

Squishy

Bad against tanks

Can fall back in lane

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Abilities

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Passive

Assassin's Mark

Dealing spell damage to a champion creates a ring of energy around them for 5 seconds, granting her 35/40/45/50% bonus movement speed for 2 seconds while moving towards the edge of the ring.

Exiting that ring empowers

Akali
next auto attack, gains 125 bonus range, and deals 35 - 182 (+ 60% bonus Attack Damage) (+ 55% bonus Ability Power) magic damage.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Q ability

Five Point Strike

Cooldown: 1.5

Cost: 130/115/100/85/70 energy

Range: 550

Slings kunai in an arc, dealing 30/55/80/105/130 (+65% bonus Attack Damage) (+60% bonus Ability Power) magic damage. Enemies at the tip are slowed by 50 for 0.5 seconds.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

W ability

Twilight Shroud

Cooldown: 20

Range: 350

Akali drops a smoke bomb, unleashing a spreading cover of smoke lasting 5/5.5/6/6.5/7 seconds.

The smoke grants Akali invisibility and 30/35/40/45/50% decaying movement speed for 2 seconds.

Stealth - Invisible: Akali can only be revealed by nearby enemy Turrets or True Sight.

Akali increases her energy by 100 while the shroud is active.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

E ability

Shuriken Flip

Re-cast: Dash to the marked target, dealing 70/131.25/192.5/253.75/315 (+85% Attack Damage) (+120% bonus Ability Power).

Runes

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

  • Conqueror
  • Electrocute

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Conqueror Runes

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Main Path

Precision

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Keystone

Conqueror

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Presence of Mind

Legend: Tenacity

Last Stand

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Secondary Path

Resolve

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Second Wind
or
Bone Plating

Unflinching
or
Overgrowth

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Explanation (Precision)

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Conqueror
is the meta for
Akali
right now. It's really good for extended trades and long all-in's or teamfights. It also offers a lot of sustain if you stack it up.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Presence of Mind
is really good as you have energy problems early because of your
Five Point Strike
which can help you take long trades while managing your energy.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Legend: Tenacity
is basically just the best as you don't need attack speed or life steal from either "Legend" runes.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Last Stand
synergizes well with
Conqueror
. I think it's so much better than
Coup de Grace
.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Explanation (Resolve)

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

You can choose between

Second Wind
or
Bone Plating
depending on the match-up.

Second Wind
is extremely good paired up with
Doran's Shield
because of how much healing you get. You should go for it in almost every match-up.

Bone Plating
is better against burst to prevent less damage taken so you can focus more on your combos.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

After that you get either

Unflinching
or
Overgrowth
.

Unflinching
is amazing paired up with
Legend: Tenacity
which is why you should be taking most of the time.

Overgrowth
is better if the enemy team doesn't have as much CC and if you can't really farm against ranged match-ups.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Electrocute Runes

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Main Path

Domination

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Keystone

Electrocute

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Taste of Blood

Eyeball Collection

Ultimate Hunter
or
Relentless Hunter

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Secondary Path

Resolve

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Second Wind
or
Bone Plating

Unflinching
or
Overgrowth

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Explanation (Domination)

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Electrocute
is really good against squishy teams as it gives you burst in lane and can also help to win some short trades.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Taste of Blood
is just the best rune as there isn't too many options good for
Akali
.
Sudden Impact
could work but I don't take it.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Eyeball Collection
is just the same like
Taste of Blood
. Since you are an assassin, of course, you would love the extra AP that it gives.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

You can choose between

Ultimate Hunter
and
Relentless Hunter
.

• Having a lower cooldown on your ultimate with

Ultimate Hunter
is pretty nice so you can get more kills.

• If you're thinking of roaming a lot,

Relentless Hunter
is the perfect rune as it can help you get somewhere faster.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Explanation (Resolve)

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

You can choose between

Second Wind
or
Bone Plating
depending on the match-up.

Second Wind
is extremely good paired up with
Doran's Shield
because of how much healing you get. You should go for it in almost every match-up.

Bone Plating
is better against burst to prevent less damage taken so you can focus more on your combos.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

After that, you get either

Unflinching
or
Overgrowth
.

Unflinching
is amazing paired up with
Legend: Tenacity
which is why you should be taking most of the time.

Overgrowth
is better if the enemy team doesn't have as much CC and if you can't really farm against ranged match-ups.

Summoner Spells

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Choices:

Flash

Ignite

Teleport

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Flash

Although

Akali
is a really mobile champion, I recommend taking
Flash
if you're new to her. It is one of the best summoner spells (In my opinion) so taking it even if you know how to play her without
Flash
is still a wise choice as it can help a lot in ganks or outplaying the enemy in sticky situations.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Ignite

Akali
has to be played aggressive so taking
Ignite
is a good option. It helps in top lane for the grievous wounds and true damage that it does which can come in handy. It also puts kill pressure on the enemy so you can clean up kills and you don't have to go for risky tower dives to finish them off.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Teleport

Teleport
isn't needed in every match-up but if you're in a hard one like
Fizz
then I recommend taking it. If you wanna be more of a split-pusher and teamfighter which is really good on
Akali
it's also another really good option. Keep in mind, don't take it every game. If you're starting off get
Teleport
in hard match-ups along with
Flash
. After some time when you're getting better with
Akali
and you learn how to play without
Flash
you can start getting
Ignite
with
Teleport
.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Items

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Starting Items:

Doran's Shield

Doran's Ring

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Honestly, I take

Doran's Shield
on 99% of my match-ups. Since you get
Second Wind
most of the time, you have insane health regen. It's even better in ranged or heavy poke match-ups as the healing increases.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

If you're in a more comfortable match-up that you can win, take

Doran's Ring
. I think
Doran's Shield
is so much better even in easy match-ups because the healing is too good to pass on.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Boots:

Sorcerer's Shoes

Mercury's Treads

Plated Steelcaps

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

I always get

Sorcerer's Shoes
right after buying a Mythic Item. I personally take it pretty much every game. The flat magic penetration is really good against squishy teams.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Mercury's Treads
is great when against a full AP team or a team with a lot of CC like
Morgana
's long CC Chain with Everfrost or
Leona
.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Plated Steelcaps
are great against a full AD team, or enemy team has a lot of champions who rely on auto-attacks to deal damage.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Mythic:

Hextech Rocketbelt

Riftmaker

Night Harvester

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Hextech Rocketbelt
is going to be your main mythic item. It provides insane damage, even more so with the added magic penetration. In addition, the granted movement speed towards enemies and dash are excellent for an assassin like
Akali
whose main goal is to kill the enemy backline, as they can more easily get access to high-priority targets.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

If you have

Conqueror
,
Riftmaker
is the best choice, especially against tankier teams, as the more you're in a fight, the more damage you will deal. Offers a ton of sustain, thanks to omnivamp, and good defensive stats.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Great alternative if you're looking for extremely high burst damage with

Electrocute
against squishies. Allows for good stats and deals tremendous amounts of damage as soon as you get it. You can literally 1v5 with
Night Harvester
.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Core Items after mythic:

Shadowflame

Demonic Embrace

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Shadowflame
is basically all you need. It's ideal for more damage and burst, serving as a great enhancement to
Hextech Rocketbelt
magic penetration. I'd even recommend rushing this item.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Riftmaker
and
Demonic Embrace
is an incredibly good combination for tankiness and survivability in teamfights. You could still buy this item with the
Night Harvester
or
Hextech Rocketbelt
builds, though you're gonna sacrifice a lot of damage, so it's not optimal and I would probably not recommend it.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Fourth item options:

Zhonya's Hourglass

Mejai's Soulstealer

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Zhonya's Hourglass
is very useful stasis in teamfights as it allows you to gain some time when you get collapsed on by the enemy. Plus it's a great counter to some champions' abilities like Zed's ult or Morgana's ult.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

When ahead, you should always consider buying

Mejai's Soulstealer
. However, this item can very quickly go from giving you 125 bonus AP at 25 stacks to becoming a waste of gold at 0.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Fifth item options:

Rabadon's Deathcap

Morellonomicon

Banshee's Veil

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Rabadon's Deathcap
has always been AP assassin's best item. However, it's quite expensive, and gives no defensive stats whatsoever. I would generally build this as a 4th or 5th item.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Build

Morellonomicon
if the enemy team has 2 or more heavy healing champions, champions who build healing items or have healing runes

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Banshee's Veil
is great against heavy AP, especially if the enemy team has a fed mage or AP assassin for example. If there's a specific ability you'd like to block
Banshee's Veil
is the right choice.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

6th Item options:

Void Staff

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Void Staff
is usually a late game item. By this point, the enemy team surely has bought a good amount of magic resist to negate your damage, especially hypercarries, so Void Staff becomes necessary.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Akali Buffs/Nerfs

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

The most recent

Akali
buffs:

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

They gave a little bit more energy to her W which can improve her teamfights a little bit.

I will soon put a "match-ups" section in the guide. I have a Camille guide if you would like to see it! If you want to correct me or add anything to the guide, please tell me in the comments!

i like ur guide :) but there is 3 things i noticed:

1: you forgot this part of akalis passive "Once Akali exits the ring she regains the bonus movement speed while facing enemy champions for 2 seconds and becomes empowered with Swinging Kama for 4 seconds, during which she cannot create another ring."

2: her e scaling is wrong, the first cast is [+25.5%AD][+36%AP] and the second cast is [+59.5%AD][+84%AP]but if you add them together it is [+85%AD][+120%AP], which is what you stated.

3: The ults execute damage maxes out when the enemy is at 30%hp or lower

i like this guide too and i almost agree 100% with your skin tier list too :) <333
