Hi! My name is Andrew, a.k.a. Big Lindawg, and Swain is one of my two favorite champions in the game right now. I started playing him in Season 11 and have been playing him a lot throughout Season 12 as well. I started playing League again last summer and currently am hard stuck in Iron. So take this guide with a grain of a salt if you must haha. But I really do believe that this is a solid build to help carry the game in every lane with a decent amount of skill. Try this build out and let me know what you think, I think you'll like it!
Rune Page
Traditionally, Swain's damage output is best utilized with Electrocute, in my opinion. I've seen Arcane Comet work, I've seen Conqueror work. But this will give you the most bang for your buck and carry potential.

Summoner Spells
I like to run TP to get back to lane quicker when I go top and will sometimes run it mid or bot but ignite is better in most match ups outside of top lane.

Skill Path
I see some Swain players max out W second but I think his grab is too OP not to max out second. Always max Q first.

Item Builds
Now, we can go through thousands of different scenarios on which items to build in which situations but for all intents and purposes, this should be your core build most games. Liandry's into Sorcerer's Shoes into Shadowflame is a must. I like Rabadon's for the power spike and then Demonic and Void Staff will make your power really hit home.

Remember: you're the expert, not us. Add the content you want, whether it's combos or custom assets. Happy writing!
People are a bit harsh here, so let me just provide some constructive criticism:
Swain has immense sustain with R and in lower elos you can survive fights because people underestimate that. As such, conqueror is very effective.
Rylai and Zhonya are also very good items, Rylai slows the enemies keeping them in your R range which lets you use it for a longer time. Zhonya can let you survive burst while still dealing r damage or healing from crow stacks. I have once gotten a penta in low silver because people don't understand your damage and will stand in your ult in low elo (yes, I'm also low elo).
Electrocute can work for support but imo the cooldown on it is too big to utilize in teamfights, it's more of a single target assasin rune while swain thrives in "aram teamfights" that happen in my elo.
I typically don't build rabadon's, I would rather have a bit more resistances / health than extra ap.
Hey man, I liked the effort you put into your guide and I would just take the criticism that the other people are giving as motivation to improve! There's always places for all levels of people to improve and you've just found yours. Good luck in the future on your games!
Everything in this guide sucks you couldnt have made a worse job than this.
e max over w are u on something E cd doesnt even fucking lower when you max it and W has a slow that goes up from 25% to 65% which is absolutely detrimental in teamfights or catching people.
electrocute over conq or phase rush?? maybe you can argue its better for sup swain but anything can work on sup swain.
the absolute fucking wrose thing about this guide is in the build you put rabdon shadowflame over fucking rylais which is absolutely important and i am not even gonna mention tp iginite pls learn the current meta before posting wrong things people gonna think swain sucks with your guide and not even use half of his power.
edit: oh i overlooked the first part i might have been too harsh lol
Hi there! Masters swain player (mid, support, and adc), I was going to critic parts of this guide but after reading it I can summerize my thoughts in three or four letters!
